Following on from the commercial lending, we act in a private capacity for many of the directors and partners and, approximately 15 years ago, it became very clear that they were looking for funding for purchasing properties abroad. The clients had very often contacted their own banks, or lenders in the UK which claimed to lend overseas, the result being very difficult negotiation and rarely, if ever, a loan offer forthcoming.
Therefore, to overcome this, Street Associates has built up connections with banks based overseas such that if a client wishes to acquire a property in a specific country we use a bank based in that Country. For example, clients wishing to purchase a property in France; we use French banks. In Portugal, Portuguese banks and Spain, Spanish banks. Interest rates on these loans are extremely competitive; please contact us for confirmation of current rates.
The advantage for the client is that they are dealing with banks which know the legal system within that specific country and it makes completion of any loans significantly easier. I
think we can rightly say we are the foremost lender of overseas property loans in the Midlands area and, indeed, would say we have more experience than any other broker in this area.
